OH COME, LET US WORSHIP AND BOW DOWN; LET US KNEEL BEFORE THE LORD, OUR MAKER! FOR HE IS OUR GOD, AND WE ARE THE PEOPLE OF HIS PASTURE, AND THE SHEEP OF HIS HAND. TODAY, IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, — PSALM 95:6-7 (ESV)
When was the last time you kneeled before the Lord? If you’re like most people, you probably haven’t bent your knee to the Lord in a long time. I know I am totally guilty of that. One of the biggest differences I’ve seen between the Protestant faith and the Catholic faith, during times of worship, is that Catholics tend to kneel and Protestants don’t. However, even within the Catholic tradition, it’s just that, a tradition to kneel. Today, consider the humility and love it takes to kneel before the Lord. Consider taking a moment of your day, in secret and in your private devotions, to kneel before your Maker. It may just change your life.
